Sound of Belfast
is back, and this year’s line-up proves why it’s one of the biggest and most anticipated events in Belfast’s musical calendar.

Programmed by the Oh Yeah Music Centre, the festival runs from this Thursday, 6-16th November and transforms the city into a world-class celebration of music and collaboration. Taking place across 27 venues, the programme spans genres from soul and jazz to folk, trad, indie, electronic and beyond, capturing the true spirit of Belfast as a UNESCO City of Music.

Highlights include the Northern Ireland Music Prize at the Ulster Hall, the Soul Supper Club with Grammy-winner Kaidi Tatham at The Harrison, a festival music walking tour, interactive sound body workshops, Music Cities speed networking, the launch of Radio Starr, a Scratch My Progress showcase and the release of Stuart Bailie’s new book The Song is Nearly Over.

With performances from Winnie Ama, Trú, Leo Miyagee, Junk Drawer, Documenta and many more, this year’s festival is a must for anyone passionate about local music.

There’s also a special tribute to Ottilie Patterson, the celebrated jazz and blues singer, plus Belfast’s first pop-up Japanese listening café, JU JU, hosted by Tokyo Jazz Joints. From intimate gigs to large-scale shows, every corner of the city will be alive with sound.
