Gig-goers across the UK are being invited to take part in the first-ever Music Fans’ Voice survey, offering a direct opportunity to influence the future of live music.

Commissioned by Belfast City Council and other local authorities, the survey gathers fan perspectives on key issues like ticket pricing, venue sustainability, and access to live music. The findings will help shape government policy and industry decisions, ensuring that the voices of music fans are heard.

With grassroots venues struggling and ticketing practices under scrutiny, this is a crucial moment for audiences to speak up. The UK lost one grassroots venue every two weeks last year, with nearly half operating at a loss. As live music spaces face increasing challenges, this survey provides a chance to highlight the issues that matter most.

The survey follows a recommendation for a Fan Led Review of live and electronic music, similar to the one conducted in football. Its results will inform key discussions at the governmental level and within the music industry, helping to improve the live music experience and protect vital venues.

The survey takes just 15 minutes to complete.
