NI artists have an exciting opportunity to kick off the year with two free events from The Ivors Academy, designed to provide practical advice on co-writing and valuable tools to support wellbeing.
On 28th January, The Ivors Academy will host a free online webinar titled The Business of Co-Writing, running from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Whether you’re new to co-writing or looking to refine your skills, this session will deliver practical advice to help you navigate the creative and business aspects of collaborative songwriting.
The webinar will cover key topics such as enhancing your creative process, fostering strong relationships with co-writers and industry professionals and turning co-written tracks into income through royalties and sync deals. Attendees will also receive guidance on managing splits, metadata, contracts and working with performance rights organisations (PROs) and collective management organisations (CMOs).
Panellists will be announced shortly, and participants can expect an engaging session filled with actionable insights. This is an excellent opportunity for both emerging and experienced artists to deepen their understanding of songwriting and build confidence in co-writing collaborations.
The Ivors Academy champions songwriters and composers by advocating for their rights, celebrating achievements, and providing opportunities for career development. Members benefit from networking opportunities, mentorship, insurance cover, guides and webinars and advice on funding and legal matters. They also play an active role in campaigns to protect and promote the value of creative work.
PRS members can take advantage of an exclusive offer to join The Ivors Academy for just £9.99, available for first-time members. This is a great chance to connect with an organisation dedicated to supporting songwriters and composers across the UK.
