Research Hour with The F-List: Dr Eva Petersen

This October, the F-List Gender in Music Research Hub continues its insightful series of online research talks, shining a light on the critical role of academic research in supporting women and gender-diverse individuals in the music industry. These sessions offer a chance to explore gender inequality in music and the vital advocacy work of the F-List for Music.

Kicking off the new series, they welcome Dr Eva Petersen, a seasoned musician, academic, and lawyer, to discuss her groundbreaking research, Get Your Writs Out: Experiences of Women Working as Musicians in Lawless Performance Spaces. The talk will focus on the challenges women face in the music industry, especially regarding safety and equality, and will highlight Dr Petersen’s collaborative work on SoundShield, a project designed to embed safety and inclusion in music education.

The event takes place on Friday, 25th October 2024 at 11am UK time and will be hosted online via MS Teams. The session will include a 30-minute presentation, followed by a 20-minute Q&A, offering attendees an engaging opportunity to learn and ask questions.
