Get To Know Us: Help Musicians & Music Minds Matter
12:00am – 3:00pm, Friday 13th Jun 2025

On Friday 13th June, from 12 pm to 3 pm, Help Musicians and its mental-health initiative Music Minds Matter will throw open the doors of their free creative space at 2 Royal Avenue in Belfast’s city centre. Musicians, industry professionals and music lovers are invited to drop in, meet the teams behind both charities and find out first-hand how they support the musical community across the UK and NI.
Supported artist Brigid O’Neill (pictured)will perform selections from her upcoming projects and then take questions from the audience, offering a rare glimpse into her creative process and the role Help Musicians has played in her career. Throughout the afternoon, staff will be on hand to explain everything from hardship grants and bursaries to professional development programmes, as well as the 24/7 helpline and counselling services provided by Music Minds Matter. Visitors will also hear about plans for World Music Day 2025 and learn how they can lend their own skills or passions to help keep the music alive.
As an extra draw, everyone who attends will have the chance to enter a charity raffle with prizes ranging from signed vinyl to studio sessions, while the first ten people through the door will receive a goodie bag packed with artist merchandise and practical resources.
Entry is free, though a suggested donation at the door will help both charities continue their vital work supporting musicians’ well-being and creativity. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or simply curious about the heartbeat of Belfast’s music scene, this event promises inspiration, information and plenty of musical spirit.
