Attitude is Everything & Black Lives in Music Present: Rest Salon

4:00pm, Wednesday 14th – 5:00pm, Wednesday 14th May 2025, 4:00pm

Attitude is Everything continues to set the bar when it comes to creating real, lasting change in the music industry, and their latest initiative is another powerful example. On Wednesday 14 May from 4–5pm, they’re hosting Rest Salon, a free online gathering for Black Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent professionals and music creatives.

Co-produced with Black Lives in Music and hosted by the incredible Eve Horne – an award-nominated producer, advocate and founder of We Are The Unheard – Rest Salon is a space built on care, honesty and community. There’s no need to mask or codeswitch. Instead, it’s about showing up as you are, being heard and finding solidarity with others navigating similar experiences in the industry.

This event forms part of the wider response to Unseen and Unheard, the ground-breaking 2023 report and podcast series by Black Lives in Music and Attitude is Everything, which exposed the systemic barriers facing Black Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent creatives. Rest Salon exists to address those barriers directly, by offering a safe, supportive and empowering environment to share, reflect and recharge.

Whether you’re a musician, producer, sound tech, manager or anything in between, this is a rare and important space that puts your voice, wellbeing and lived experience at the centre.
