What does a creative career in Belfast actually look like? Belfast Buildings Trust and its partners are giving young people the chance to find out through Creative Belfast, a project offering hands-on, paid internships for those aged 18 to 25. It’s a six-month deep dive into how creativity moves through our city.

The program is designed for those who want to build professional skills through real-world work. Learning happens on the job, working directly alongside artists and creative practitioners. Because the program covers a wide range of disciplines, you might find yourself supporting live music and events, shaping photography exhibitions, contributing to public art commissions, or even learning traditional heritage skills like stained glass. It is a unique opportunity to explore different paths and figure out which creative spark you want to follow.

The Practical Details
This is a significant commitment that respects the value of your time and work. The internship runs from March to September and offers a competitive wage of £14 per hour. The workload is typically 30 hours per week, though this can vary depending on the projects you are supporting. To be eligible, you must be between the ages of 18 and 25 and have the right to work in the UK.

How to Apply
The organizers are looking for potential and passion rather than just a long CV, and they even welcome video applications for those who prefer to speak rather than write. The Creative Belfast internships are made possible through funding by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The deadline to get your application in is fast approaching on 20th February.
