Belfast TradFest returns this summer with a packed week of concerts, sessions and events across Belfast UNESCO City of Music.

Now in its seventh year, Belfast TradFest has established itself as a major fixture in Ireland’s traditional music calendar, combining world-class concerts, lively pub sessions and the country’s fastest-growing summer school of traditional music.

From 27 July to 3 August, audiences can look forward to an exciting programme featuring Dervish, NOTIFY, Goitse, John Doyle and Mick McAuley, Iarla Ó Lionáird and Tim Edey, Ríoghnach Connolly & The Breath, Allt with the Ulster Orchestra, Kinnaris Quintet and Moxie among others. Performances will take place across some of Belfast’s best-loved venues, including the Ulster Hall, Mandela Hall and the Empire Music Hall.

Belfast TradFest celebrates the cultural diversity of the different traditions here in Northern Ireland, creating opportunities for shared experience through music, song and dance. In 2024, the festival welcomed 650 summer school students and attracted audiences of more than 20,000.

2025 marks a significant milestone for the festival, recognising how far it has developed since its founding in 2017. Through a commitment to quality programming and community engagement, Belfast TradFest continues to play an important role in strengthening Belfast’s position as a leading centre for traditional music.
