Applications now open: Frequencies New Music Residency

Music for Youth and Frequencies have opened applications for the 2025 edition of the Frequencies New Music Residency, a major opportunity for emerging music creators aged 16–25 across the UK – including Northern Ireland.
This year’s residency offers a unique platform for young artists to collaborate, create and perform at one of the world’s most iconic venues: the Royal Albert Hall. The programme supports cross-genre, multidisciplinary ideas, encouraging applicants from all musical backgrounds – whether you’re a solo artist, band member, producer, composer or creative working at the intersection of music and other artforms.
Participants selected for the residency will receive a £1,000 bursary, access to free rehearsal space, and one-to-one mentoring from professional musicians and industry experts in areas including songwriting, orchestration, live performance and music business. The programme culminates in a live performance as part of the Music for Youth Proms in November 2025, with the opportunity to perform alongside a full orchestra and choir.
Frequencies is an agency for young people passionate about music – whether onstage, behind the scenes, playing, producing or making. Its programmes are designed to meet emerging artists where they are, offering creative development, real-world experience and industry insight to help shape a future in music.
The deadline for applications is Monday 1 April 2025.
The Frequencies New Music Residency is supported by PPL UK.
