AOIBHA Named CQAF Artist-in-Residence

AOIBHA has been announced as this year’s Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival Artist-in-Residence, marking another milestone in a year of growing recognition.
Hailing from Co. Down, AOIBHA has spent the past 12 months establishing herself as a singular voice within Ireland’s indie-folk landscape. A string of high-profile support slots and a sold-out full-band show have signalled her arrival as an artist to watch, with her music weaving together intricate storytelling and evocative soundscapes.
Her work pulses with a gothic energy, drawing influence from the brooding atmospheres of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, while also echoing the textured folk traditions of artists like Joshua Burnside and Lemoncello. There is a quiet intensity in her songwriting—one that lingers in its restraint yet carries the weight of deep emotion and richly layered harmonies.
As part of her residency, AOIBHA will appear throughout the 25th Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, which runs from 1–11 May 2025. A full schedule of performances will be announced soon.
