Bróna McVittie

The critics have been forming an orderly queue to heap praise on Bróna McVittie’s shoulders since the release of her debut album. The Guardian decided that this outwardly delicate record “has a bite behind it, showing you the stuff under the skin”.

Her 2nd album was ranked 4th in The Guardian’s 10 Best Folk Albums of 2020. If Virginia Astley, Joanna Newsom and The Unthanks appeal to your ears and heart, then County Down native Bróna is your new favourite artist.

She performs solo with vocals, harp, guitar and electronics or with her trio featuring drums and steel guitar. The trio played the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall as part of Celtic Connections, Dublin’s National Concert Hall, St George’s Bristol and WOMAD in 2019.
